Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead saw Morgan (Lenny James) decide to leave Alexandria, the All Out War, and Crazy Rick behind and take a road trip to Austin, TX, where he began one of the new players to join Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), Luciana (Danay García), and Strand (Colman Domingo). On top of the news that Season 5 will show what happened to Daniel Salazar (Rubén Blades), we now learn that another member of The Walking Dead cast is heading south: Austin Amelio, who played Negan’s face burnt lackey, Dwight.
If you may recall, at the end of the All Out War story Daryl banished Dwight from Alexandria, mostly because it was cheaper than putting a bullet in his head. As Season 5 of Fear begins, Alicia, Morgan, and the others are working out of Polar Bear’s base of operation, trying to locate people so they can start rebuilding, and it won’t be long before they come across Dwight, who also decided that heading for warmer climates beats having to deal with all the crazy back in Virginia.
It has also been confirmed that Season 5 of Fear picks up not long after the events at the end of Season 4, so will not experience a huge time jump as those experienced in first half of Season 9 of The Walking Dead. Doesn’t mean one isn’t coming, it just means we’re not getting it right away. Scott Gimple has also indicated that more characters from The Walking Dead could appear at some point in the future.
No date has been given for the premiere of Season 5 of Fear the Walking Dead other than it’ll return in 2019.
