This week’s episode is all about the Trial of the Seven Wonders.
Oh, and if you were wondering if Cordelia Foxx (Sarah Paulson) was dead or alive, she’s totally alive. Although, there is a Sarah Paulson screamer moment when she wakes up in a vision and gets eaten by zombies first. However, once she comes out of the vision, she’s back at Hogwarts and all ready to have Michael Langdon (Cody Fern) submit to the trial because she knows shit is about to hit the fan.
Of course, the wizards are just fangirling over the fact that if he succeeds, the boys will be on top again.
Except for John Henry Moore (Cheyenne Jackson), who thinks there is something wrong with Michael.
And, when he can’t convince the others of this, John packs his bags and leaves. However, the moment he stopped in at a deserted petrol station to fill up, I knew this man was dead. When Kathy Bates turned up it was just a matter of how quickly the murdering would occur. And, it wasn’t long before Bates went all Pet Sematary on John and slashed his Achilles and his throat. She finished him off by setting him on fire. Hey, they were at a petrol station after all…
Next, it was time for her to have a meet up with Michael and a hugfest over how awesome he is and how soon her son will rule the world.
After that, it’s the Trial of the Seven Wonders.
Predictably, Michael passes with flying colours. However, Cordelia has one last trick up her sleeve: Michael’s last trial will be to retrieve Misty Day (Lily Rabe) from the underworld.
Without even batting an eyelid, Michael descends and viewers get to see Misty stuck in a hellish loop of being forced to dissect a live frog and then bringing it back to life. Michael eviscerates the teacher forcing Misty to hack open the frog and rescues Misty.
Michael then returns to the real world (which is still years before the actual apocalypse seen in Episode 1 of Season 8 of AHS). Misty isn’t there so all the wizards are crying rigged. However, dust starts to appear and Misty then emerges and the Coven are shook over her return.
Everyone celebrates by having Stevie Nicks sing. Stevie also, obviously, has the same hairdresser as Myrtle Snow (Frances Conroy). While Cordelia allowed the trial of the Seven Wonders, she later reveals to her coven that she doesn’t actually want Michael to be the Supreme. (Now, is it just me, or was it called an “Alpha” last week?) Instead, she is subscribing to the old adage of keeping your friends close and your enemies closer.
Cordelia then enlists Madison’s (Emma Roberts) help with finding out the truth about Michael Langdon.
And, in order to do that, they need to go right back to where it began.
