It Appears the Rumors are True: “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” is a Chose-Your-Own-Adventure Film

According to Esquire, rumors coming out of South Korea indicate that the Black Mirror movie, Bandersnatch, which is dropping this Friday, 28 December, will be the long-rumored interactive episode that maybe believed would appear in Season 5.

The “facts”, as they appear, has the episode being directed by David Slade, the director of the Season 4 episode Metalhead, and stars Fionn Whitehead, Will Poulter and Asim Chaudhry. The photo below was leaked showing them situated before 1980s computers. The synopsis of the episode appears to indicate the programmers have written a novel that they then turned into a computer program, which will likely be named Bandersnatch in honor of a game that was supposed to appear for the Commodore 64 but never materialized. The synopsis also indicates that the fantasy world of the game and the real world will eventually become confused, because this is Black Mirror and we need to screw with everyone.

There are two remaining parts to the rumor.  First, Bandersnatch is not part of Season 5: that is expected to drop sometime in early 2019. And the second part indicates the total run time of Bandersnatch is 312 minutes, making it 5 hours and 12 minutes long. It’s thought the full length consists of various clips that can be combined for a Chose Your Adventure movie, though since this is Black Mirror, every one of those adventures will led us straight to hell…

Bandersnatch is coming 28 December.  Get ready for the pain.
