Here’s what went down in Episode 6 (titled “The Pilgrimage of Chains”) of Knightfall Season 1.

Adelina is Smart

Episode 6 of Knightfall Season 1 sees Adelina (Sarah-Sofie Boussnina) outwit Roland (Cengiz Dervis). Thanks to the perfect timing of the changing of the guard, Roland is discovered and captured. He is sent away for the Templars to deal with. Adelina follows, to have her wounds tended to. She might have gotten the upper hand, but Roland still got in a few punches prior to his capture. While she is there, she reminds Parsifal (Bobby Schofield) that he isn’t a monk yet and also gives him a message written by Roland. She has no idea who Roland intended it to go to, but she figures the Templars will be able to find that out.

The Templars Notice Something is Missing

Episode 7 of Knightfall saw Landry (Tom Cullen) meet with the Brotherhood of Light. So how did that turn out for him?

Landry got tortured for his efforts. He also hallucinates a lot about Queen Joan.

The Brotherhood want to know all about his mother because apparently that was the question asked on the scroll that got burnt in Episode 3 of Knightfall. Landry doesn’t believe the bullshit and won’t reveal this information.

After much torture, a fellow Brotherhood member helps Landry to escape. It doesn’t take long for Landry to see through his bullshit as well and a deal is struck: the Brotherhood of Light will reveal where the grail is in return for Landry handing over Tancrede (Simon Merrells).

Oh, and about Godfrey. It turns out he was the traitor who let the Saracens into the tunnels all those years ago at the Battle of Acre.

Landry does not want to be that guy.

However, he will be a little bit deceitful if it means he gets home safely. Once there, he exiles Tancrede rather than give him to the Brotherhood. He decides that he will do the honourable thing and hand himself over. But, when he does this, Tancrede turns up and ruins everything. Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, though, Landry accepts Tancrede’s offer to repent and allows for the exchange.

So, about that Grail?

While, technically, the Brotherhood pull through and say where the Grail is, they don’t actually reveal the exact location, only that Landry needs to return to the place where he first met Godfrey.

The Brotherhood also promise to serve Landry once he finds the Grail. Because nothing is ever simple when it comes to the Holy Grail.

De Nogaret Gets Screwed

While all the Holy Grail intrigue is interesting, once again, the most exciting part of Knightfall is not the Knight Templar stuff, but the goings on in the royal court.

King Philip (Ed Stoppard) is so happy that William De Nogaret (Julian Ovenden) saved his life in the last episode of Knightfall. To show his appreciation, he knights De Nogaret and gives him a parcel of land.

Isabella (Sabrina Bartlett), while freaking out at having to watch innocent men being hung on account of her and De Nogaret’s “plot,” is still happy to celebrate his knighthood. She tells De Nogaret to meet her in her office as she has something to show to him.

While this isn’t an euphemism for getting laid, it does result in De Nogaret getting screwed. Isabella, in her excitement to show De Nogaret a parchment, knocks over some quills. When she goes to retrieve them, notices a breeze. In an effort to discover the source of it, ends up finding all of De Nogaret’s nasty little peepholes.

Especially that one that looks into her bedchamber.

In a screaming rage, she confronts De Nogaret in front of the court. When the king realises what is going down, he orders everyone to leave and secures the room.

Once De Nogaret’s plot is fully revealed, the king decides to hang his adviser. Unfortunately, he doesn’t do it immediately. Instead, De Nogaret will be hanged in the morning and this gives De Nogaret’s uncle–who conveniently turns up out of the blue–a chance to rescue his nephew from the gallows.

Do you even know how pissed off I am right now? However, we will have to wait until next week’s episode of Knightfall to find out how De Nogaret copes with his significant fall from grace.
